Who better to raise awareness of Apprenticeships than apprentices themselves?
The Apprenticeship Ambassador Programme has been launched as an information service for schools in Greater Manchester, utilising real apprentices’ first-hand knowledge to present the Apprenticeship route as a viable and successful route into higher education and a career.
Currently, they are recruiting current or recently qualified apprentices who want to share their Apprenticeship experiences and inspire groups of students in schools and colleges. Ambassadors are always accompanied at events by either a member of the Apprenticeship Ambassador Team or one of our expert delivery partners. Travel costs to and from events on behalf of the Apprenticeship Ambassador programme will be reimbursed.
Before visiting any schools or colleges, Ambassadors will attend a Training day which provides general information about Apprenticeships, as well as an opportunity to develop and present their own positive Apprenticeship experiences to other new Ambassadors.
What are the benefits of Apprenticeship Ambassador Programme?
The ambassador programme has many benefits and many ambassadors have stated that the programme has given them new skills that they can utilise at work, such as:
• Increasing their interpersonal skills
• Communicating effectively and clearly with young people and adults
• Positively representing their Employer and Provider externally
• Enhancing their knowledge of Apprenticeships
These skills are reflected in many of the new Apprenticeship Standards and involvement as an Ambassador can contribute to the 20% off-the-job training by offering practical presentation skills.
Once trained, Apprenticeship Ambassadors can also support your own school engagement teams to promote your organisation.
