Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Level 2 Award in Awareness of Dementia

This qualification aims to develop learners’ knowledge and understanding of the care of individuals with dementia. It addresses awareness of dementia, person centred approaches to care of individuals with dementia, communication and interaction. Issues of equality, diversity and inclusion are also covered.

What's involved?

To achieve this qualification, the learner must achieve 8 credits from the 4 mandatory units.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Level 2 Award in Awareness of Dementia.

Who is eligible?

To complete the Certificate learners need to be working or volunteering in a work setting as there are competence elements to complete.


The cost of this qualification including registration and certification fees is £120 per learner. Workforce Development Funding (WDF) is available for 8 credits (£120) for those employers who are NMDS compliant and members of their local Skills for Care partnership.
