What is the Apprenticeship Levy?
In April 2017 the government will implement a new Apprenticeship Levy on large employers, to fund new apprenticeships. This levy aims to raise apprenticeships by 3 million by 2020.
What does it mean for businesses ?
Broadly speaking, if you are an employer with a pay bill in excess of £3m you will be required to pay a levy which is expected to be 0.5 per cent of your pay bill. This will be paid into a central fund where you’ll access vouchers to fund the training of your own apprentices. You’ll receive an allowance of £15,000 to offset against your levy payment.
But what does the Apprenticeship Levy mean to the health and social care industry?
We appreciate that the Apprenticeship Levy can be confusing and that is why we are offering a FREE 30 minute telephone appointment with our health and social care and Levy expert Julie Arrowsmith. She will be able to discuss the Levy, the impact on your business and how Acacia Training can help.
